The Rector, The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin, has been selected for the Excellence in Innovation Mentorship Award by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
The prestigious recognition, according to a letter dated 7th September, 2026, signed by the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NBTI, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, is in recognition of the Rector’s contributions to institutional leadership, student development, practical skills acquisition and innovation mentorship.
The award is scheduled to be presented during the VIP Awards & Investment Dinner of the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2026, holding at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre, London, on Friday, 9th October, 2026.
According to the NBTI, the development of the next generation of innovators requires institutions that go beyond academic instruction by providing an enabling environment for young people to transform knowledge into practical solutions, enterprises and technologies capable of addressing real-world challenges.
The Board noted that Dr. Kadiri’s commitment to youth development and his efforts to create an environment where innovation can flourish align with the core objectives of the NextGen Innovation Challenge.
The recognition is particularly significant as The Federal Polytechnic Offa is one of the Technology Incubation Centres under the National Board for Technology Incubation, providing an institutional platform for nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship, technology development and the commercialisation of indigenous ideas.
The Rector’s recognition by the NBTI also adds to his credentials as an innovation driven institutional leader. He is a proud holder of four patent rights approved by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, further demonstrating his personal commitment to research, invention and the development of home grown technological solutions.
Under his leadership, The Federal Polytechnic Offa has continued to strengthen its focus on practical innovation and technology driven education, with initiatives aimed at encouraging students and staff to translate knowledge and research into useful products and solutions.
The NBTI Excellence in Innovation Mentorship Award therefore represents not only a personal honour for the Rector but also a recognition of the growing culture of innovation and technology incubation being promoted at The Federal Polytechnic Offa.
