Mr. Gabriel Oyediran Soko serves as the fifth substantive Registrar of the Polytechnic, a position to which he was appointed following a distinguished tenure as Deputy Registrar in charge of Council Affairs. An indigene of Igosun in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, he is a respected administrator and technocrat with a profound institutional legacy.

Mr. Soko’s academic background is both robust and comprehensive. After completing his secondary education at Offa Grammar School between 1979 and 1984, he pursued his Cambridge A’Level at the Kwara State College of Technology, now Kwara State Polytechnic. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1991, and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations from the University of Ilorin in 2005. Further enhancing his skill set, he obtained a Diploma in Information Technology (Desktop Publishing) in 2010.

He commenced his service with the Polytechnic in 1995 as an Administrative Officer II and, through consistent excellence and dedication, rose to the rank of Deputy Registrar by July 1, 2010. His extensive career has afforded him deep operational insight, having worked in virtually every department of the institution. His leadership roles have included serving as Deputy Registrar for Council Affairs, Senior Staff Establishment, Academic Affairs, and the Institute of Continuing Education. Additionally, he has held pivotal positions as the NODAL Officer and Head of the SERVICOM Unit, School Administrative Officer for the School of Engineering, and School Officer for the School of Communication and Information Technology, among several others.

Mr. Soko maintains active professional affiliations as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPN) and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria. He is also a frequent participant in academic and professional development forums, having attended numerous seminars, conferences, and workshops, and contributed several conference and seminar papers to his field.

Through nearly three decades of dedicated service, Mr. Soko has established himself as a cornerstone of the Polytechnic’s administration, esteemed for his strategic oversight, institutional knowledge, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
