Says The Polytechnic Must Work

In his quest to take the Federal Polytechnic Offa to a greater height, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Kadiri has re-emphasized that the Polytechnic must work in all shades of development, staff productive capacity, staff welfare, aggressive infrastructural development, and re-channeling of the academic program and culture.

This was disclosed at the inaugural meeting with the staff assembly on Thursday 13th April 2023 at the Polytechnic Main Campus.

Dr. Kadiri who noted that his appointment is a test of his competency, technical know-how, and proficiency, promised to build the Polytechnic that would stand the test of time.

Speaking further, the Rector stated, the Polytechnic remains a project in progress, a continuously evolving entity and a growing system, he, therefore, seeks indulgence and cooperation of all staff to join in pushing the Polytechnic to an enviable position in terms of restoring and sustaining qualitative education, productive research attitudes to solve societal problems.

According to him”…the era of hypotheses, conjectures, and postulations have gone by. It is now the period of workability and viability. It is now the era of pragmatism, the era of practicality. Hence, the promulgation of the 4-word slogan for my administration” The System Must Work.” I am of the strong conviction that all of us are desirous of seeing that the system works for better…”

While analyzing his mission and vision for the Polytechnic, he noted many challenges facing the Polytechnic as well as its potential of providing quality education, exploring entrepreneurship opportunities, and transforming the Polytechnic into a great technology-driven institution, he stressed that the Polytechnic will kick start the production of table water, pure water, and bread in due time.

Speaking on discipline, Dr. Kadiri pledged to lead by example, equity, and fairness in compliance with Polytechnic Act, and extant rules. He charged staff on punctuality, dedication, and commitment to duty as driving forces to progress and institutional development. While emphasizing discipline, he sternly frowns against absenteeism, levity, and insubordination as factors capable of undermining institutional growth. He, therefore, promised to make staff welfare his utmost priority and enjoined staff to table reasonable and convincing demands rather than a smear campaign of calumny and defamation.

Earlier, the Chairman Governing Council, Dr. Usman Bokani Ahmed MFR represented by Hon. Alao Olabisi Kamoru congratulated the Rector, he admonished him to work with the Union and operates an open-door policy. He urged staff to cooperate with the new administration for the progress and development of the Polytechnic.
