In compliance with the Polytechnic Act, the Academic Board of The Federal Polytechnic Offa chaired by the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kamoru Kadiri has elected Mrs. Mulikat Bola Aliyu as the Deputy Rector Academics on 20th April, 2023 for a single tenure of four years.
Mrs. Mulikat Bola Aliyu was born on 27th June 1960 in Offa Local Government, Kwara State. After her elementary and secondary education, she attended Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, School of Basic Studies from 1982 to 1984 after which she proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for her Bachelor of Library Science between 1987 to 1990. Mrs. Aliyu equally bagged a Masters in Library Science from the same Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1998 and as a qualified teacher who teaches with simplicity and modesty, she obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto in 2007. Mrs. Aliyu in her quest for more knowledge is currently undergoing her Ph.D. in Library and Information and has completed her post-field defense.
Mrs. Mulikat Aliyu joined the service of The Federal Polytechnic Offa in the year 1999 as Lecturer l and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer. She has served the Polytechnic diligently in different capacities. She was Chairperson and member of different management committees. As one of the pioneer staff of Library and Information Science Department, she served as the Ag. Head of the Department in 2003. She served as member, Central Publication Committee in 2004. She was also the treasurer of WITECOS in 2009. She later became the Head of Department of Library and Information Science from 2011 to 2013 and from 2014 to 2016 respectively. She served as Director of the Institute of Continuous Education from 2017 to 2021 where she inscribed her name as a reputable, trustworthy, amiable, generous, and godly administrator. Mrs. Aliyu also extended her service to the community as she served as National Treasurer, Offa Descendants' Union from 2014 to 2018.
As a refined woman of repute, Mrs. M.B Aliyu has remarkably contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Polytechnic. Her impute and impact has earned her many reputable awards, accolades, and commendations both from the Polytechnic and her immediate community. Mrs. Aliyu had many significant awards and letters of commendation as a testimonial to her dedication, diligence and commitment.
Mrs. M.B Aliyu belongs to many professional bodies; she is a fellow of Policy Management and Development
(IPMD), Member, Teachers' Registration Council of Nigeria( TRCN), Member, National Union of Teachers(NUT), Member, of the Women Librarian, Member, of Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), Member, Nigeria Library Association, Kwara State Chapter and a Certified Librarian of Nigeria(CLN).
