The Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Usman Bokani Ahmed MFR has commissioned the Polytechnic bookshop, central store and toured round to inspect other facilities in the polytechnic.
The Chairman accompanied by other council members carried out the commissioning and inspection exercise on Wednesday, 29th of June 2022.
Speaking at the commissioning, Dr. Usman commended the management led by the Acting Rector, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi for deeming it fit to have a bookshop in the Polytechnic and for building a central store within a short period. He however expressed delight in the previous management and the new management for running and maintaining the two campuses effectively.
The Chairman and other council members who patronized the bookshop bought some stationery and applauded the management team for the insight.
Speaking on the bookshop, the Acting Rector, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi said the idea was conceived when he came on board, adding that the bookshop will be one of the best in Nigeria that will further project the academic standard of the polytechnic in all ramifications.
Subsequently, the Governing Council members led by the Chairman paid homage to Olofa of Offa, Oba Muhammad Mufutau Gbadamosi Ajagungbade l, Esuwoye ll to appreciate the monarch’s persistent support for the Polytechnic. The Chairman Governing Council thanked Olofa of Offa for the 500KVA transformer donated to the institution.
While presenting a letter of appreciation to Olofa, the Council solicited for more support from the monarch for the growth and development of the institution.
Olofa of Offa in his response commended the Governing Council for deeming it fit to visit the palace. He said the set of Governing Council is the best council among the three his reign has witnessed.
Speaking further, Kabiesi said he is proud that the Governing Council is not a burden to the management of the Polytechnic. He thanked the Council for supporting the school management and promised that more efforts will be put in place to settle the epileptic power marauding the polytechnic community.
Giving vote of thanks, Mrs. Dorathy Ozoemena representing Fed. Ministry of Education at the Council level appreciated the monarch for the sacrifices and support for the growth and development of the Polytechnic and that of the community at large.
