The Alumni Association of the Federal Polytechnic Offa Kwara State has held its annual general meeting and elected new executives, board of trustees to pilot the affairs of the association.
The Annual General Meeting and election were held on the 30th of July 2022 at the Polytechnic Board Room, Main Campus.
Speaking at the meeting, the pioneer President of the association, Dr. Ayo Adeyemi said the idea of the association was a concerted effort of a few groups of people who formed a steering committee after which the election was conducted that led to his emergence.
Speaking about his stewardship as the pioneer President, Dr. Adeyemi noted that his administration was able to build the secretariat situated at the Polytechnic Main Campus, upgraded the sports facilities, donated books to the Polytechnic library, and facilitated a big generator to power the polytechnic administrative building, cash donations to outstanding students and celebrating the alumni who have excelled in their various spheres of life.
Dr. Adeyemi who emphasized the fact that the Alumni Association is not about money-making but giving back to the alma Mata and changing the narrative which the intuition is known to be in time past, charged newly elected executives to continue to build on the legacies of the past administration laid and see the association as one that must grow rather than pursuing a personal interest.
He however pledged his continuous support for the association in all ramifications and capacity for the growth and development of the polytechnic.
