The management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State has cleared air on speculations in some quarters that the Polytechnic has received the Central Bank of Nigeria cassava initiative grant.
The Management declares that the reports as published by some medias are false and misleading.
Reports made available during the press conference on the state of the Institution only mentioned that the Polytechnic was picked based on expression of interest as one of the potential beneficiaries of Central Bank of Nigeria Tertiary Institution Cassava Value Chain Development Initiative, and that the CBN Team from Ilorin only visited the Polytechnic to discuss the processes and procedures for assessing the fund as one of the economic drive interventions of the Central Bank in tertiary institutions to boost research, innovation and local production of raw materials.
Speaking further on the issue, the Polytechnic Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocols, Olayinka Iroye affirmed that the Polytechnic Management has not received the fund yet, but only commenced the process and procedures for assessing the fund, which is an economic drive interventions of the CBN Tertiary Institution Cassava Value Chain Development Initiative. He added that the Management is currently following due process to enable it access the fund.
