The Acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi has admonished the 2021 batch C stream ll outgoing corp members who served in the Polytechnic to think of self-employment as they bow out of one year service for the nation.
Dr. Olarongbe revealed this on Wednesday, 2nd of November 2022 during a sendforth program organized for the corp members by the school management at the polytechnic main campus.
According to him, “On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, and Students, I want to appreciate you most sincerely for your dedicated and committed service to the Polytechnic. You are loyal to your bosses and dedicated to your duty.
“As you are leaving the polytechnic, a lot is expected of you. Punctuality is a reflection of who you are, your seriousness, and your dedication. You have to be punctual always. This sendforth is significant to your life because you will continue to refer to it.
“You have to be good ambassadors; not that of your alma mater only but this polytechnic. Let the good things you have imbibed here reflect in your further engagement. We have shown you an appreciation for serving the polytechnic committedly.
“I don’t want you to rely on government jobs, think about self-employment rather than looking for white-collar jobs. Unemployment is a very long queue. I wish you well. May God continue to bless you and protect you in your future endeavors.”
While responding on behalf of the outgoing corp members, Ogunleye Oluwatosin thanked the polytechnic management for creating a conducive and convenient environment for corpers during their service. She appreciated the management for organizing a befitting sendforth for corp members with a reward for their diligent services.
