The ICPC resident commissioner for Osun State, Mr. Bakare Ademola has commended the management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa led by Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi on the frantic efforts and commitment to end corruption in the education sector.
The commissioner commended the institution during a meeting recently organized by the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit of the Polytechnic with the management.
Mr. Bakare in his address charged the management to continue to provide the necessary support for the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit of the Polytechnic in order to discharge their duty judiciously.
The Ag. Rector, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi in his remark appreciated the relentless efforts of ICPC in combatting corruption in Nigeria. He noted that the Polytechnic has decided to give it all it takes to fight corruption in education. He added that the institution is one of the Polytechnics in Nigeria campaigning aggressively against any form of corruption. He said it is going to be difficult to eliminate corruption in Nigeria, but it can be curtailed and that is what the institution is trying to do.
Subsequently, mass communication students’ newspaper publication supervised by a lecturer in the department, Mr. Abdul Ganiy Bisiriyu was officially presented to the ICPC resident commissioner by Dean, School of Communication and Information Technology, Dr. Mrs. Oluwakemi Ogungbamigbe as a testimony to the concerted efforts of the management against corruption.
The publication featured the story of the campaign against corruption in education and was well-received and acknowledged by the ICPC resident commissioner.
